Erik Smith is a prolific writer of self-help books. He suggests a practice that is both healthful and healthy and less expensive than purchased products for hair!
Erik sets the tone of his concept information in his Introduction – ‘With so many available types of shampoos that can be bought commercially, why would you bother making your own? Before giving you a glimpse on how simple the process of making your own shampoo is, here are the top reasons why you ought to, at least, give this a try 1. It’s cheaper. 2. It does not contain chemicals and the ingredients are mostly organic. 3. You can create the right shampoo depending on what type of hair you’ve got. How simple can it get? I thought this was going to teach me to make shampoo from scratch. As a soapmaker, I was very interested to find shampoo-specific recipes. However, it doesn't exactly do that. There are a few from-scratch recipes using food items, which is interesting and the reason I'm giving it a little higher rating. However, I would have liked to have seen a more in-depth analysis of commercial ingredients to avoid, less oversimplification of health issues determined by the state of your hair, and more quality from-scratch recipes. Actually from scratch, not starting with a commercial ingredient. Also, not all baby shampoos are great for your hair, but they're included in some of the recipes.
Good all around book for making your own at home. Reminded me of lots of ideas! Have fun with shampoo!
